Biden to promote Kamala Harris at Democratic convention

President Joe Biden will seek to promote his Vice-President, Kamala Harris, on the first day of the Democratic national convention on Monday.
On July 21, Mr Biden stepped down his reelection bid, saying it is in “the best interest” of the Democratic Party and the country to withdraw from the race, and he endorsed Mrs Harris to be the nominee.
Mr Biden will aim to promote and support Mrs Harris to members of the Democratic Party and the broader American audience on the first day of the convention in Chicago, Illinois.
Additionally, first lady Jill Biden is scheduled to speak on the first day of the convention. Former first lady Hillary Clinton, Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota Peggy Flanagan, and Governor of New York Kathy Hochul are also slated to speak.
