Beyoncé wins record-breaking 32nd Grammy

American R&B singer Beyoncé has become the most awarded artiste in Grammy’s history after picking up her 32nd honour at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The 41-year-old clinched her 32nd Grammy for the best dance/electronic music album with her ‘Renaissance’ album to set a new record – it was her fourth win of the night after she already won three other categories including the R&B song of the Year with ‘Cuff it’.
She also won two awards in the pre-shown with ‘Break my soul’ for the Dance Recording category and ‘Plastic off the sofa’ for the Traditional R&B performance.
It took the songwriter 88 career nominations to break the previous 31 Grammy Awards record held by Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti, who won his last award in 1998, the year after his death.
An emotional Beyoncé took to her official Instagram page to thank her fanbase known as the “Hive” – and everyone who worked on the ‘Renaissance’ album which received a record-breaking nine nominations.
“To my Hive, thank y’all so much for all of your love and loyalty! Big thank you for the BREAK MY SOUL and CUFF IT wins!!! To The Dream, Tricky, HOV, and Big Freedia. I love y’all!,” she wrote. “Syd, I’ve always been such a fan of yours. Thank you. Nova Wav, Morten Ristorp, Raphael Saadia, and Nile Rodgers, thank you for pouring into CUFF IT.”
She added, Big thanks to Sabrina Claudio, Nick Green and Patrick Paige Il. PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA is my favorite song on RENAISSANCE most days. It’s hard to pick though. Haaa. It feels great to be honored for the vocal performance. Thank you to all the talented vocalists who killed those beautiful TikTok renditions! I feel very grateful and filled with joy!”
