Bayelsa Queens land in Morocco ahead of CAF Women’s Champions League opening match

Nigerian champions Bayelsa Queens have successfully landed in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of the CAF Women’s Champions League scheduled to start on Sunday, October 30, through to Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Bayelsa Queens, who are champions of the WAFU B qualifying tournament in Ivory Coast, announced their arrival in Morocco in advance for the second edition of the biggest interclub women’s competition in Africa on Monday.
“Bayelsa Queens fc has arrived in Casablanca, Morocco in advance of the start of the CAF Women’s Championship League on October 30,” the team said in a statement Monday.
“The Bayelsa Queens FC are feeling upbeat about the competition and are eager to win the championship. The squad is staying in the Casablanca sports complex known as Magic Village,” the club added in the statement.
The Restoration Girls have been drawn in Group B of the eight-team tournament alongside defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, Wadi Degla from Egypt and TP Mazembe from Congo.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has announced that the prize money of $1.5 million will be shared among the participating teams.
