Bauchi: 640 FRSC operatives to monitor strategic locations during Christmas, New Year

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says 640 personnel will monitor traffic in strategic places in Bauchi in preparation for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
FRSC’s Bauchi sector commander Patrick Ikaba said this in an interview on Friday in Bauchi.
He said 11 patrol vehicles and five ambulances had also been deployed to strategic locations in the state to enhance emergency response operations.
Mr Ikaba added that some 115 officers, 360 regular marshals, 155 special marshals and 10 medical personnel had been provided with the necessary equipment for the operation.
The sector commander said, “Our personnel have also been posted to some local government areas where we do not have offices. Effective collaboration with other sister agencies remains paramount in accident prevention and the implementation of robust safety measures.
“All markets on major highways will be removed using joint Tax Force and FRSC operatives.”
He urged motorists and other road users to obey traffic rules and regulations.
