Barcelona defender Pique, singer Shakira announce divorce

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and Colombian singer Shakira have ended their marriage of 12 years.
Marca on Saturday reported that Pique and Shakira, who have two children from the marriage, announced their separation in a statement.
“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” Pique and Shakira said in a statement.
“For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we are asking for respect for their privacy,” the couple further stated.
