Barcelona confirm Kounde signing from Sevilla

FC Barcelona has officially announced the signing of French defender Jules Kounde from Sevilla, in principle, on a five-year deal.
The player joins Barcelona for around €50m with some add-ons and other variables, and the deal is still subject to him passing his medicals.
Kounde was close to signing for Chelsea in a deal that was rumoured to be upwards of €65m, but Barcelona hijacked the deal, with Xavi insisting on signing the French defender.
The 23-year-old defender is Barcelona’s sixth summer signing after Pablo Torre, Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.
Kounde made 95 appearances in La Liga for Sevilla, scoring five goals.
