Bandit killed, kidnapped victim freed in gun battle: Katsina police

The police in Katsina State have neutralised a bandit and rescued a kidnapped victim in Malumfashi Local Government Area.
Gambo Isah, the police spokesperson, stated this in a statement issued on Thursday in Katsina.
The police swooped in one the bandits after a distress call in the wee hours of Thursday indicated the gun-wielding criminals had invaded Kirfi village and abducted a man, Kabir Sule.
A combined team of police and vigilance groups overpowered the bandits in a gun duel.
During the encounter, Mr Isah said, “the team neutralised one of the terrorists and rescued the victim unhurt.”
Mr Isah said that search parties were still combing the area with a view to arresting other injured terrorists or recovering their dead bodies.
