Justice Sherifat Sonaike of the Tafawa Balewa Division of the Lagos High Court, on Wednesday, stalled court proceedings of Andrew Nice Ominnikoron, a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver charged with rape and murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

Mr Ominikoron is facing five-count charges bordering on felony, sexual assault, rape, conspiracy and murder.

On Wednesday, the court’s registrar confirmed to Peoples Gazette that the judge was absent due to health reasons.

The court registrar adjourned the case until September 21 and 26 for further hearing.

During the last court proceedings, a witness, inspector Jennifer, was cross-examined by the defence counsel, Abayomi Omotubora, who questioned the witness on another complainant’s evidence.

The witness told the court how the police found out during investigations about another complainant, Victoria Anoke, allegedly assaulted by the defendant.

The police inspector revealed that the 29-year-old doctor voluntarily came forward to talk about the assault after seeing the defendant’s pictures on social media.
