Armed Forces Remembrance Day: ACCI honours military’s selfless services, dedication

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday honoured the courage, selfless service and unwavering dedication of men and women of the military.
In his message, Emeka Obegolu, ACCI president, said the military had stood as guardians of the nation while commemorating the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Abuja on Wednesday.
“The ACCI joins Nigerians across the nation in solemn reflection and heartfelt gratitude as we commemorate the sacrifices of our armed forces.
“Today, we honour the courage, selfless service, and unwavering dedication of the men and women of our military. The military, who even in the face of great challenges, have stood as guardians of our nation’s sovereignty, security, and democratic values.
“Their bravery ensures that our institutions, businesses and communities can thrive in safety and peace. We remember with deep respect those who have paid the ultimate price in service to our fatherland and recognise the enduring sacrifices made by their families,” he said.
Mr Obegolu said that the heroes left an indelible legacy that called for them to be remembered with ceremonies and to reflect their values in actions.
According to him, as a chamber committed to fostering economic growth and development, they are particularly grateful to the armed forces for creating a secure environment that allowed businesses to operate and flourish.
The president said their efforts enabled citizens to pursue, share prosperity and build a thriving economy. He said the ACCI has reaffirmed its commitment as an armed forces-friendly Institution dedicated to supporting the troops and their families.
He called on all Nigerians, businesses, and institutions to join in ensuring that the welfare of the heroes and their loved ones was a collective responsibility.
