Apostle Suleman says police orderly wasted in his 2022 convoy attack masterminded ambush

Controversial preacher and founder of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Johnson Suleman, says the attack on his convoy in 2022, in which seven people, including three police officers, were brutally killed, was orchestrated by a member of his security team.
Mr Suleman stated this while preaching in London over the weekend, claiming that a police officer on his security team masterminded the fatal attack.
“The reason that death took place was because among the officers, there was an insider that sold us out, and he was the first to be shot,” Mr Suleiman told his cheering congregation. “He was the first to be wasted.”
However, Mr Suleman did not substantiate his allegation against the police.
The 2022 attack sent shockwaves through the religious community, with many fearing whether the attack could have been politically motivated or linked to the preacher’s contentious lifestyle. However, the police announced in July that it arrested a suspect in connection with the attack.
Police spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi did not respond to a request for comments on Mr Suleman’s allegation.
If Mr Suleman’s allegations were proven true, it could have serious implications not only for the clergyman but the police as a major security and law enforcement agency in Nigeria. High-profile individuals like Mr Suleman rely on the police for additional security.
