APGA guber candidate pledges to improve Enugu’s fortunes if elected

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu, Frank Nweke, has assured that the state will witness positive governance from 2023 if elected.
Mr Nweke, a former Minister of Information, gave the assurance on Saturday in Enugu at the end of the party’s ward-level consultative meetings held simultaneously across the 260 political wards in the state.
Mr Nweke claimed that feedback from residents indicated that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi-led’s administration was not capable of tackling the state’s challenges.
“From the feedback we are getting, it has become clear to people of Enugu State that the incumbent party, and its governorship candidate, are incapable of addressing the peoples’ pains,” he said.
Mr Nweke claimed that the state lacked portable water despite several water provision schemes.
“How did we get it so bad that things like basic sanitation and waste management have been made to look like rocket science?” Mr Nweke queried.
The governorship hopeful said his goal was not to regurgitate the usual complaints but to offer workable public policy templates to get things done and alleviate the people’s sufferings.
He said he would energise his supporters and party faithful to continue their mobilisation to get the state’s citizens to rise and rebuild Enugu State.
In his remarks, APGA chairman in Enugu, Ndubuisi Enechi-Onyia, said the party had distinguished itself by nominating a credible, seasoned and public-office tested candidate.
He noted that Mr Nweke’s service as a minister and his values and vision for a prosperous Enugu, as captured in his manifesto, had made APGA the choice of the people.
“Also, the poor performance of the incumbent party has set the ground for a widespread acceptance of APGA in the state,” Mr Enechi-Onyia stressed.
