APC governorship candidate vows to prioritise education in Kebbi

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi, Nasiru Idris, has pledged to accord education a top priority if elected as governor.
Mr Idris, a former Deputy National President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), stated this while speaking with journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
“I will particularly focus on teachers’ welfare during my administration if elected as governor in the 2023 general elections.
“Teachers will be my priority, and the general public will see it. I’m from that sector and so, they should be expecting more,” Mr Idris said.
Mr Idris said that he was also aware that the state’s people had lots of expectations from him.
He said that he would do everything humanly possible to live above board and ensure that he did his best to satisfy their needs.
He also commended the state governor and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for their “marvellous and unprecedented support” to the party.
“I am very happy that my brother, whom I contested with, Alhaji Abubakar Gari-Malam, willfully accepted the outcome of the primary. He has conceded in good faith, and I want to thank him for that,” Mr Idris said.
