APC elects new North-West zonal executives

The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, elected new executives for its North-West zone, with Muhammad-Garba Babawo emerging as zonal chairman.
Hadiza Alhaji was elected zonal woman leader, while Abdulhamid-Umar Mohammed retained his position as zonal youth leader, reflecting continuity and experience.
Other officials elected include Salisu Tsafe as organising secretary, Mailafiya Mada as publicity secretary, and Bashir Hussaini as legal adviser for the zone.
The elections were conducted during the APC North-West Zonal Congress held in Kaduna, attended by key party leaders and stakeholders from the region.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State urged unity among party members, describing the congress as a reflection of the APC’s democratic values.
“This congress is a powerful affirmation of the APC’s identity as a truly democratic and grassroots-driven political party,” Mr Sani said.
He added that party leadership was determined through transparent processes reflecting the collective will of its members across the zone.
Mr Sani welcomed new members, including Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal, describing their defection as vital to the party’s national outlook.
He also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting that ongoing reforms are yielding results in agriculture, energy, and social interventions, including the student loan scheme.
The governor urged party members to remain committed to APC ideals, stressing unity as essential for sustaining the party’s growth and success in the region.
The congress attracted the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, ministers, governors, and other party stakeholders.
