Anxiety in Kano: Appeal Court to deliver judgment on governorship election today

Governor Abba Yusuf has called on Kano residents to remain calm and avoid acts capable of causing a breach of the peace as the Appeal Court delivers judgment on the March 18 governorship election Friday (today).
NNPP had appealed against the judgment of the Kano governorship election petitions tribunal.
The governor said this in a statement issued by information commissioner Baba Dantiye on Thursday.
The Kano government said the advice became necessary as some unscrupulous persons might take advantage of the situation and cause a breach of the peace.
The Kano government, reacting ahead of Friday’s governorship election judgment by the Abuja Division of the Appeal Court, stressed the need for the people to maintain peace for the development of Kano.
The government called on security agencies to redouble their efforts to ensure that law and order were maintained and the protection of lives and properties.
