ANSIEC distributes non-sensitive materials ahead of Anambra LG polls

The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has commenced distribution of non-sensitive materials to the 21 local government areas ahead of the Sept. 28 council elections.
The exercise was done under tight security at the commission’s headquarters in Awka.
Also, vehicles and electoral officers were seen taking delivery of the materials.
Briefing journalists on the development, chairman, ANSIEC, Genevieve Osakwe, said the distribution was to ensure early commencement of election in all polling units in the state.
“The materials are being taken to the local government areas where they will be further distributed to the polling units on time for the election to commence in earnest on Saturday.
“The election will hold in all polling units across the state in a peaceful atmosphere.
“We urge the electorate to come out en masse without fear of intimidation to cast their votes.
“We promise to conduct a smooth, free, fair and credible election on Saturday,” she said.
