Anambra govt approves N31.6 billion for Ekwulobia-Nnobi road dualisation, other projects

The Anambra State government has approved about N31.6 billion for some projects, including the dualisation of the Ekwulobia-Nnobi road.
The government approved the projects at the 14th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting on Wednesday in Awka.
Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information, told journalists after the meeting that the dual carriageway would complete the linkage of the four major Anambra cities by dual carriageways.
Mr Mefor said the dualisation of the Ekwulobia-Nnobi road, about 32.6 km, would gulp N28.9 billion, while N110.7 million was earmarked for the supply and installation of mechanical appurtenances at the College of Nursing Sciences.
He said the construction of Metallic View-Point Barricade at the Light House, Awka, would cost N488.4 million and N95.8 million was approved for Geophysical Survey/Mapping.
“Construction of outstanding road segments in Okpoko area was awarded in the sum of N2.03 billion, while N96.9 million was for the procurement, installation, and deployment of digital multi-band jammers,” he said.
Mr Mefor said the ANSEC joined in mourning the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the state committed each year to implementing reforms aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business.
“The initiatives have resulted in improvements in land administration, infrastructure investment, business processes, investment promotion and protection, tax administration, and access to justice,” he said.
