Amotekun nabs three phone thieves in Ekiti

Operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps, have arrested three suspected phone thieves in Ekiti State.
The head of communications of the Ekiti Amotekun Corps, Abiodun Adeleye, released a statement on Monday stating that a 19-year-old suspect, simply identified as Samuel, was nabbed at Oye Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area headquarters.
According to Mr Adeleye, the suspect, nabbed for phone snatching, stated during interrogation that he had two accomplices who the Amotekun Corps also later arrested.
“The arresting Amotekun officers at Oye Ekiti stated that the suspect, Samuel, upon interrogation, confessed his involvement in such stealing act. He alleged that he was involved in phone snatching and connived with a syndicate, 20 years old Sanusi Garuba, 20 years old,” said Mr Adeleye.
Amotekun in the statement, stated that Mr Samuel said one of the accomplices, identified as Tosin, introduced him to the criminal activity.
“The principal suspect and the two others have been handed over to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Oye Ekiti for necessary action and further interrogation,” the Amotekun spokesperson added.
Mr Adeleye said the Amotekun command, under the leadership of corps commander, Olu Adewa, is committed to flushing out criminals from the state.
