Alleged cocaine dealer wanted by German police captured in Colombia

The police in Colombia have captured a 43-year-old suspected drug dealer who has been subject to manhunts in Germany since September 2022 and included on a “Europe’s Most Wanted” list.
Police in Hamburg, who have been preparing a case against him, announced on Tuesday that he was escorted back to Germany by officers.
He made an initial appearance before a judge in Frankfurt.
Prosecutors said that the 43-year-old was arrested by the local authorities when he entered Colombia from Ecuador at the end of September.
He is suspected of trafficking several kilograms of cocaine.
Hamburg police had determined that the 43-year-old had been in Hamburg until October 2020 and then fled to Turkey and onward to Colombia in November 2020.
There had been no trace of him since 2020 until his recent capture.
Police said that investigation against him by Hamburg authorities remains ongoing.
