Francis Ajatta has assumed duty as the new sector commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS6.3 Akwa Ibom command.
The command’s Public Enlightenment and Public Relations Officer, Paul James, made the disclosure in a statement in Uyo on Thursday.
Mr James said that Mr Ajatta took over from Edward Odiete, who had been promoted and given higher tasks.
He said that the appointment was aimed at ensuring enhanced performance and efficiency in road traffic management and safety in the state.
The FRSC spokesman said that the new sector commander was a chartered member of the Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
According to the statement, Mr Odiete thanked the FRSC personnel in the state for their support to him, saying that they should extend the same cooperation to his successor.
