Aisha Buhari mute over Deborah’s murder, hosts summit for APC female aspirants

Amid public outrage against the gruesome killing of Deborah Samuel, a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Wamako, by Muslim fanatics, Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari, hosted a summit for All Progressives Congress female aspirants.
Mute over Ms Samuel’s killing since Thursday, Mrs Buhari took to her Facebook page on Saturday posting photos of the summit she hosted for APC female aspirants.
“Earlier this afternoon, I hosted the APC Female Aspirants to a summit in collaboration with the office of the APC Women Leader,” Mrs Buhari said.
“I commended the aspirants for their courage and also charged the Nigerian women and men to give their support and commitment in ensuring that more female aspirants emerge as candidates of the various political parties and ultimately elected into offices, as partners for progress and development,” she added.
In January, Mrs Buhari endorsed capital punishment for the killer of a five-year-old Kano girl, Hanifa Abubakar, but has conspiciously stayed silent on the heinous murder of Ms Samuel by rampaging Islamic extremists.
Ms Samuel was mobbed at the school’s security post by angry Muslim colleagues and students who hit her repeatedly with sticks and stones before setting her ablaze on Thursday, a development widely condemned by Nigerians.
