Air Peace decries Oshiomhole’s public conduct after missing Abuja flight

Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Wednesday, disrupted flight operations of Air Peace at the Zulu Hall of the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State.
The Edo North senator, despite arriving after the boarding had closed, could be seen in a viral video, loudly expressing his displeasure, while blocking access to the terminal.
The management of the domestic carrier, in a statement later in the day, which failed to mention the name of the senator, also condemned the senator for allegedly assaulting its staff, describing the former governor’s conduct as “unruly” and “unbecoming.”
The statement read, “Air Peace strongly condemns the unruly conduct of a prominent Nigerian politician who disrupted airport operations on the morning of Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
“The prominent individual in question arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) at approximately 06:10 AM for Flight P47120 scheduled to depart Lagos for Abuja at 06:30 AM. In line with our standard on-time departure policy, the boarding process had closed, and the flight departed as scheduled.
“Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal’s entrance. He went as far as sealing the entry gate and manning the access point, effectively obstructing other passengers from gaining entry into the terminal,” it stated.
Stating that the politician’s unacceptable behaviour disrupted operations and affected travellers’ scheduled flights, the airline disclosed that it attempted to minimize further inconvenience by activating an operational contingency plan to board affected passengers through an alternate terminal, ensuring the continuity of their travel plans.
Deeply saddened by the high-profile figure’s conduct which was, “so unbecoming and disruptive to fellow passengers and our personnel,” Air Peace said it maintains a zero-tolerance stance on violence or any form of aggression against its staff and passengers.
The airline therefore urged guests to always remain civil and cooperative, stating that aviation operations were bound by strict timelines and safety protocols, restating its resolve to upholding the standards and delivering safe and timely services.
It stated, “Air Peace continue to stand for discipline, integrity and respect for due process. No individual, no matter how influential, is above these values.
