Again, armed thugs attack SDP candidate Segun Oni’s convoy in Ekiti

Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs have for a second time attacked the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Ekiti governorship election, Segun Oni.
The thugs, armed with guns and dangerous weapons, were said to have shot directly at Mr Oni’s convoy, during a visit to the palace of Onitaji of Itaji-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
The incident, which happened on Saturday afternoon, was said to have caused panic and pandemonium in the local community.
A source, who confirmed the incident to Peoples Gazette, could not immediately verify if there were casualties in the attack.
All efforts to reach Mr Oni’s campaign spokesperson, Jackson Adebayo, proved abortive as at press time.
On April 6, armed thugs wielding guns, machetes, stones and other dangerous weapons had first attacked Mr Oni and attempted to disrupt the campaign rally at Efon Alaaye.
