Afghanistan arrests terrorists involved in attack on Spanish tourists, others

Afghan security forces have captured those related to attacks on government employees in the capital, Kabul, and foreign tourists in central Bamiyan province, said Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman of the Afghan caretaker government.
The captives, including a Tajikistan national who was planning a suicide bombing, were arrested during military operations conducted by security personnel on Monday.
The arrest was made on the outskirts of Kabul and eastern Nangarhar province, Mr Mujahid posted on his social media platform X account.
Without providing details about the number of arrested insurgents, the official said security forces had found a suicide vest, two arms, and a quantity of ammunition from their hideout.
Mr Mujahid said the two insurgents were killed, and several others were arrested during operations launched in relevant areas of Kabul and northern Faryab province.
Four people, including three Spanish nationals, were killed, while seven others, including four foreign tourists, were wounded in a shooting attack in Bamiyan province in May.
