AFCON: Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro confirms Iheanacho, Onuachu’s arrival

Ahead of the Nigeria national team, Super Eagles’ match opening match against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, the head coach of the team Jose Peseiro, has said the team is in high spirits for the game.
Speaking to reporters at the pre-match press conference in Abidjan on Saturday morning, Mr Peseiro said the team which he described as the “best offensive” team in Africa are working hard ahead of the game.
He said, “We have worked hard and we are ready for the game against Equatorial Guinea.” The team captain Ahmed Musa buttressed his coach’s position, saying the team were happy together and ready for the tournament.
Responding to questions about the players who have yet to join up with the team, Mr Peseiro confirmed the arrival of Kelechi Iheanacho, who recently recovered from injury and Paul Onuachu, who replaced Umar Sadiq.
“I can confirm that Iheanacho and Onuachu arrived in Côte d’Ivoire around 4 am” – he also confirmed that Terem Moffi, who was named as the replacement for injured Victor Boniface “will arrive tomorrow (Sunday).”
Meanwhile, Mr Peseiro said he is “under pressure” to perform well given the not so convincing performance in Eagles recent matches, stressing that AFCON is a different event and the team is preparing well to perform at the tournament.
