AFCON 2023: Stanley Nwabali trains alone as Super Eagles prepare for quarter-final clash with Angola

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali did not participate in group training as Nigeria prepared for the quarter-final clash against Angola at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Chippa United goalkeeper was replaced by Francis Uzoho in the last quarter of Nigeria’s 2-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a round of 16 tie on Saturday following a flying tackle by Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.
On Monday, the team returned to training ahead of the game against Angola. While the rest of the team trained together, Nwabali had to sit out and engage in some personal exercises on the sideline.
Nwabali will have to wait for the outcome of the scan results to determine whether he will be eligible to feature in the crucial match against Angola on Friday.
Meanwhile, Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo and Uzoho both trained on Monday and are fully fit to replace Nwabali, who has started all four of Nigeria’s games at the AFCON.
