Adelabu, Alli, Folarin congratulate Olubadan at 90, first coronation anniversary   

Mr Alli also prayed to the Almighty to bless the Olubadan with sound health, uncommon wisdom and many more years on the throne.

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC- Oyo South) and Senator Teslim Folarin have congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin, on his 90th birthday and first coronation anniversary

Mr Adelabu felicitation to the monarch is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists on Saturday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mr Adelabu described the traditional ruler’s 90th birthday as a majestic milestone, celebrating a life rich in wisdom, leadership, and enduring contributions to Ibadanland.

He said, “Oba Olakulehin’s legacy stands as a testament to his dedication to the unity, peace, and progress of his people.’’

The minister said that the occasion not only honoured the monarch’s remarkable life but also reflected his commitment to the prosperity of Ibadan.

Mr Adelabu praised the Olubadan’s role as a unifying force, emphasising his impact as a symbol of stability and guidance for the community.

He stated, “As kabiyesi marks this new chapter, I pray for his continued good health, happiness, and many more years of impactful leadership. His life’s work serves as an inspiration, reminding us of the value of wisdom, service, and devotion to one’s people. This celebration is not just about longevity but the profound difference he has made in the lives of many.’’

The minister acknowledged Olubadan’s pivotal role in fostering communal harmony and development, crediting his reign for strengthening the cultural and socio-economic fabric of Ibadanland.

He added, “Through times of challenge and growth, His royal majesty has been a pillar of wisdom and a beacon of hope. Today, we celebrate not just his years, but the enduring legacy he continues to build. This birthday celebration serves as a moment of pride for Ibadan indigenes and well-wishers, honouring a king whose life exemplifies service, tradition, and visionary leadership.’’

Also, Mr Alli in a statement issued on Saturday celebrated the monarch.

Mr Alli, who is also the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, described the traditional ruler’s reign as peaceful, impactful and a great blessing to Ibadanland.

The lawmaker said that Oba Olakunlehin’s ascension to the throne came at a time Ibadanland needed a wise, experienced, and fatherly figure to steer the traditional institution towards greater progress.

He commended the traditional ruler for his commitment to the preservation of Ibadan customs and values, as well as his support for development and harmony across the land.

Mr Alli also prayed the Almighty to bless the Olubadan with sound health, uncommon wisdom and many more years on the throne.

He wished him a joyous celebration of both his 90th birthday and coronation anniversary.

Similarly, Mr Folarin, a former Senate Leader, in a statement, extended heartfelt congratulations to Olubadan.

He stated, “Attaining the age of 90 is a remarkable feat, and we give thanks to the Almighty for the gift of life. As you celebrate this milestone, I’m certain your heart overflows with joy, reflecting on the incredible achievements of your life.’’

Mr Folarin, who is also the Aare Alaasa of Ibadanland, wished the Olubadan continued long life, wisdom and good health to serve his people.

He prayed that his dreams and wishes for the people of Ibadanland come to fruition.

He stated, “On this joyous occasion, I wish you God’s abundant blessings and grant you many more years of fruitful service to Ibadanland. Long live Your imperial majesty. Long live Ibadanland.’’
