Adekanye Mayomi emerges Ondo varsity SUG president

The elected officers are expected to be sworn into office next week to begin their tenure as the 20th democratically elected union government of the institute.

Adekanye Mayomi, popularly known as ‘Inec’, a 400-level department of Philosophy student, has on Thursday, been elected as the new Student Union Government (SUG) president of Ondo state-owned institution, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA), Peoples Gazette can confirm.


Mr Mayomi pipped his opponent Fakaisi ‘Wolimike’ Michael from the Department of Mathematics with 89 votes to become the new President-elect of the union, as hundreds of students trooped to the university’s ICT building to cast their votes. 


Meanwhile, Rotimi ‘Temmierose’ Temitope emerged as the new union’s Vice President while Ninaji ‘Fidelis Trust’ Uche defeated Adewami ‘Water Nation’ and Iwamu ‘Dammylee’ Damilare to clinch the social director position.


Ojo Oluwatosin Isaac emerged as the General Secretary while Ogundaisi Samuel Olatunbosi, Taiwo Abraham Damilare and Ajiki Joseph Adebowale were elected as the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Financial Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.


Daramola Oluwatobi Olamide secured the sports director’s position as Ojo Cosmos Olayemi clinched the assistant general secretary’s post. The elected officers are expected to be sworn into office next week to begin their tenure as the 20th democratically elected union government of the institute.
