Mr Maksha said that the ministry was targeting no fewer than 3.5 million animals for vaccination against the aforementioned diseases in the 2025 campaign.

The commissioner said that out of the amount, 2 million of the animals were cattle, while the remaining 1.5 million were goats and sheep.

Mr Maksha thanked Gov. Umaru Fintiri for the ongoing construction of a state-of -the-art veterinary hospital in Jambutu, and milk collection centres across the state.

He said that the hospital, which had reached 80 per cent completion level, was among the best in the country.

The commissioner listed other achievements of the ministry to include construction of dams and water collection centers, renovation of Yola Modern Abattoir and minimising herders and farmers clashes.

In his remarks, the council chairman, Adamu Dalhatu, thanked Mr Fintiri for inaugurating the campaign in the area.
