Adamawa govt supports 84 cooperative societies with farm input

Adamawa State government, on Monday, supported no fewer than 84 registered cooperative societies with farming input to boost agricultural production.
During the farm input distribution in Yola, Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta said that over 1,000 members of the cooperative societies, mostly women, would benefit directly from the gesture.
“The government will continue to show commitment towards the provision of welfare services to the weakest segment of our society.
“The state government recently approved the release of funds to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development for an Information Communications Technology (ICT) training tagged “Fintiri Digital Training,” she said.
Ms Farauta said the training scheduled to be held in the middle of January would benefit no fewer than 50 unemployed youth from the 21 council areas in the state.
“The training will cover digital marketing, web development, graphic design, and modern workplace digital communications,” she said.
Hammanjumba Gatugel, the commissioner for entrepreneurship development, said the input included organic and inorganic fertilisers, agrochemicals, and maize and rice seedlings.
Mr Gatugel said the gesture aimed to support the beneficiaries in improving their production, becoming self-reliant, and employers of labour.
According to him, the intervention is one of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s interventions that positively impacts the citizens’ lives.
Hamid Sabondale, a farmer who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed happiness for the gesture and appealed for its sustenance.
