The FCT command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested six suspected vandals.

The FCT command public relations officer, Monica Ojobi, confirmed the development on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ms Ojobi said operatives arrested the suspects at different locations in the FCT during the Christmas celebration.

She said one of the suspects, a 27-year-old, was arrested around the Life Camp/Kado axis while vandalising armoured cables.

“Another 28-year-old male was arrested at Yar’Adua Expressway, along the Airport road while vandalising solar panel poles and FCMB billboard poles.

“An 18-year-old male was also arrested at Yar’Adua Expressway, along airport road, in possession of vandalised El-Rufai commercial bus body parts,” she stated.

She added that three others were apprehended with vandalised items comprising street light poles, bulbs, fencing iron hook, and nine shovels, amongst others.

Ms Ojobi said the suspects are undergoing investigation and would be consequently prosecuted according to the provision of the law.
