AAUA appoints Olusola as biochemistry department’s first professor

Ondo varsity, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA), has appointed Dr Augustine Olusola as a new professor in the institute’s department of biochemistry, becoming the first person to become a professor since the creation of the department.
“The authorities of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, had appointed the first Professor in the Department of Biochemistry of the highly reputed Ivory Tower,” the statement read.
“He is Dr. Augustine Olusegun OLUSOLA. Dr Olusola specializes in Clinical Toxicology, Medical & Environmental Biochemistry,” the statement added.
Mr Olusola joined the AAUA biochemistry department in 2001 as a graduate assistant and climbed up the ladder to become the first lecturer in the department to be appointed as a professor.
He has also served as the head of the department on multiple occasions amongst other positions which he has held in the institution.
He has published several scientific research papers in both local and foreign journals, with his recent research works focusing on evaluating plants for antioxidant, antidiabetic, for its medicinal potential as well as toxicity.
