67th Grammys: Tems wins Best African Music Performance award

Nigerian artiste Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammys on Sunday.
In the category, she beat other Nigerian nominees, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake, Rema, Lojay, Davido, and Yemi Alade.
The artiste was edged out in the two categories she was nominated for, losing to SZA in Best R&B Song and Matt B ft Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ in Best Global Album.
Afrobeats artiste Rema, his first-ever Grammy nomination, could not clinch the Best Global Album.
“Woah, my heart is beating so fast. Dear God, thank you so much for bringing me to this team,” said Tems.
American artiste and songwriter Chris Brown won his second Grammy award for Best R&B Album for his ’11:11′ album.
The win came after 25 nominations over a decade since winning his last award in 2012 in the same category for his ‘F.A.M.E’ album.
