42-year-old historian Karol Nawrocki wins Polish presidential election

Polish Electoral Commission (PKW) announced Mr Nawrocki as the winner of the polls after votes were counted on Sunday.

Karol Nawrocki, a conservative historian, won the 2025 Polish presidential election, held over the weekend.

Polish Electoral Commission (PKW) announced Mr Nawrocki as the winner of the polls after votes were counted on Sunday.

Mr Nawrocki, 42, polled 50.9 per cent of the votes to defeat his closest rival, Warsaw’s liberal mayor, Rafal Trzaskowski, who polled 49.1 per cent of the votes.

A winner emerged in the Polish presidential race in the second round.

Mr Nawrocki will assume office after being sworn in on August 6.
