Head coach of Nigeria’s Under-17 women’s national team, Bankole Olowookere, has called up 35 players as the Flamingos commence preparations for the seventh FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India in October.
Team captain Alvine Dah-Zossu, goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Miracle Usani, Blessing Sunday, Comfort Folorunsho and Tumininu Adeshina, midfielders Blessing Emmanuel and Taiwo Afolabi, and forwards Opeyemi Ajakaye and Aminat Bello were among the players invited.
They are expected to report at the Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye, Abuja, on Tuesday with their training kits, medical certificate of fitness and passport.
The Flamingos defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt and Ethiopia to qualify for this year’s tournament, winning five of their six matches.
The seventh FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals will be staged in India from October 11 to 30.
