Some 27 indigent students have urged the Zamfara State Government to pay their registration fees into the Nigerian Law School for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The call is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the state’s Law Students’ Forum, Mubasshir Umar and Mahmud Sani-Kaura, in Gusau on Friday.
It said that government intervention was necessary due to the financial difficulties.
“Admission into the law school is once in a year which is secured before the fees are paid, this is our burden. Traditionally due to exorbitant school fees of the Nigerian Law School, state governments, especially in the northern Nigeria pay the registration, mobility and logistics for their indigent law students who qualified and admitted into the school. We are appealing for urgent intervention of our kind-hearted state governor Dauda Lawal,” it said.
The statement said the call was imperative to enable the students register before the expiration of the deadline.
It also lauded the governor over the declaration of state of emergency in the education sector in the state.
