25-year-old man arrested for allegedly stabbing two to death in Ogun 

The police spokesperson said that the state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and promised that justice would be served.

The police command in Ogun State has arrested a 25-year-old suspect over alleged killing of two persons and causing three others injury at Olambe area in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Okuseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement to journalists on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

Mr Babaseyi said that it was reported that the suspect attacked the victims with a knife after failing in some business deals.

He stated, “On Tuesday, April 7, at about 1.38 a.m., the suspect stabbed five people. Two of them, Gbadamasi Ibrahim ‘M”, aged 25, and Chinedu ‘M’, aged 40, died while being taken to the hospital where a doctor later confirmed their deaths.

“Also, the other three victims, Mohammed Abubakar ‘M,’ aged 35; Ashiru Adamu ‘M,’ aged 25; and Paul Lawrence ‘M,’ aged 25, are in critical condition, but responding to treatment.”

Mr Babaseyi said that the suspect fled the scene after the attack, but was later caught by detectives and now in police custody.

He further said that the case and the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation and prosecution.

The PRO said that the state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and promised that justice would be served.

Mr Ojajuni urged the public to stay alert and report any incident that could cause break down of law and order to security agencies in the state.
