2027: Northern youths fault Babachir Lawal’s North-ADC alliance claim

The Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly has faulted Babachir Lawal’s claim of the North-Action Democratic Congress alliance for the 2027 elections.
In a statement on Sunday, NEYGA denounced Mr Lawal’s claim.
Mr Babachir, a chieftain of the ADC, told journalists that the National Political Consultative Group (North) had endorsed the ADC as its preferred opposition party.
NEYGA described Mr Lawal’s narrative as a “fabrication” and urged Nigerians to disregard it.
”The North is not a political pawn to be manipulated by a select few. Any decision of this magnitude must involve broad-based consultations with traditional rulers, youth leaders, and stakeholders.
”Nigerians should disregard such an undemocratic proclamation.
“We know the true patriots from the opportunists, the North will not be railroaded into another political misadventure by those who see our region as a mere stepping stone to power,” the group said.
