2027: Lagos leads with 7,488,633 registered voters as INEC names top 10 states

The INEC chairman said Ekiti State has 1,055,708 registered voters, while Bayelsa State has 1,200,691.

Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters nationwide with 7,488,633 followed by Kano State with 6,570,276 voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, made the disclosure in Abuja, saying Nigeria is the largest democracy in Africa, with over 103 million registered voters.

“The top 10 states by number of registered voters are Lagos State, first position, 7,488,633 registered voters followed by Kano state with 6,570,276,” he said.

He ranked Kaduna State third with 4,662,640 registered voters, followed by Katsina State with 3,876,051 and Rivers State with 3,736,434.

Oyo State has 3,588,111 registered voters, while Delta State has 3,525,988.

Mr Amupitan said Benue State has 3,057,225 registered voters, while Ogun State has 3,037,981.

According to him, Bauchi State has 3,012,547 registered voters.

The INEC chairman said Ekiti State has 1,055,708 registered voters, while Bayelsa State has 1,200,691.

“The FCT ranks next from the bottom with 1,732,043 voters, followed by Yobe State with 1,733,641 registered voters and Gombe State has 1,768,566”, he said.
