2025 AFCON: Super Eagles to face Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania in group stage

Host nation Morocco will headline Group A, while defending champions Côte d’Ivoire are in Group F.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn into Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The three-time African champions will face a challenging path to glory as they seek to add a fourth AFCON title to their trophy cabinet. Nigeria narrowly missed out on victory in the last final, losing to Côte d’Ivoire.

The draw, conducted today, revealed a competitive field for the tournament. Host nation Morocco will headline Group A, while defending champions Côte d’Ivoire are in Group F.

Tunisia, a consistent force in African football, will be a formidable opponent for Nigeria. Uganda and Tanzania, though potential underdogs, bring an unpredictable element to the group and will pose their unique challenges.

Nigeria boasts a rich history in the AFCON, having previously lifted the trophy in 1980, 1994, and 2013.

Group A: Morocco (hosts), Mali, Zambia, Comoros

Group B: Egypt, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe

Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania

Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana

Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan

Group F: Ivory Coast (holders), Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique
