2024 Hajj: Governor Yahaya approves N500,000 subsidy for intending pilgrims in Gombe

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved a N500,000 subsidy for each 1,373 intending pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj exercise from the state.
Ismaila Uba-Misilli, the spokesperson for the Gombe Government House, said this in a statement on Friday.
Mr Uba-Misilli said the decision was made in response to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) ‘s recent announcement regarding adjustments to the 2024 Hajj fare.
He stated that the governor’s approval was to mitigate the financial strain on the state pilgrims in the face of current economic challenges.
“Mr Yahaya hopes that this intervention will contribute to a seamless and spiritually enriching hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Gombe State and facilitate a conducive environment for religious activities despite prevailing economic challenges,” he said.
