2023: Take care of your children during elections, Kebbi emir tasks parents

The Emir of Gwandu in Kebbi State, Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar, on Saturday tasked parents with taking proper care of their children ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Mr Iliyasu-Bashar, during a weekly prayer session held at the Abdullahi Fodio palace in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, said this was imperative as youths remain a tool for political thuggery by politicians.
He noted that it was important for the youth to join the nation’s defence and shun all forms of political thuggery.
Mr Iliyasu-Bashar appealed to politicians to play politics according to the rules, devoid of hatred, unguided utterances, malice and breach of peace.
The emir observed that playing politics according to the rules would improve the lives and socio-economic activities of the citizenry.
