2023: APC Rep candidate pledges to prioritise women, youth employment

Ejike Omeje, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Nsukka/Igboeze-South Federal Constituency, says he will prioritise youth and women empowerment if elected in 2023.
“I will give priority to youth and women empowerment as well as issues on education, health and agriculture,” Mr Omeje said when he inaugurated his campaign office in Nsukka.
“Accountability, transparency and effective representation will be my watchword.”
The candidate said his campaign would be issue-based and focused on the developmental needs of the constituency.
He said he had severally intervened in his people’s health, education and other needs in his private capacity.
“If I am elected in 2023, it will give me more opportunity to do more for the people of the constituency,” he said.
Mr Omeje also promised to collaborate with colleagues from the South-East “to reintroduce the bill seeking the establishment of South-East Development Commission that would expedite development in the zone”.
In a remark, the campaign DG, Ejiofor Agada, described the candidate as a marketable product, considering his enviable track record.
“This is a man who single-handed facilitated the employment of over 200 graduates from Nsukka zone both in federal and private establishments,” he said.
Earlier, the Enugu State vice chairman of APC, Augustine Alumona, said he had known Mr Omeje for a long time.
