Zamfara gifts food item to victims of banditry, psychiatric patients

The Zamfara state government has donated food items to victims of banditry in Maru and psychiatric patients in Anka local government area of the state.
A statement issued in Gusau on Friday said the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Fa’ika Ahmad led the distribution.
Ms Ahmad, who distributed the items to 31 victims in Ruwan Doruwa town in Maru local government area, said the assistance was to assist them reduce their hardship.
She also presented food items to psychiatric patients at the state Psychiatric Hospital in Anka town, the headquarters of Anka local government area of the state.
“My ministry has been committed to ensuring effective cushioning of hardships being experienced by the victims of banditry, and disasters among other vulnerable groups in the state”, the state commissioner said.
The Executive Chairman, State Hospital Services Management Board, Bashir Maru, received the food items on behalf of the management of the psychiatrist hospital.
He assured the state of utilising the items provided for the patients judiciously.
