World Cup Qualifier: Eguavoen says Nigeria have “surplus of good players” to beat Ghana

Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen says Nigeria has “surplus of good players” for the FIFA World Cup playoff against Ghana.
“We have a good headache to deal with – which is a surplus of good players,” Eguavoen said at a virtual meeting with Youth and Sports minister Sunday Dare and chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation Tuesday night. “I want to thank the Government and the NFF for all the support during the AFCON; we will need even greater support for the World Cup play-off.”
He added that “We have two tough games against Ghana next month but I am not too worried because we have a squad that knows it is a mountain that we have to climb.”
The Super Eagles have been paired to play against Black Stars of Ghana for the ticket to Quatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. The matches will be held in March
Under Eguavoen’s watch, the Super Eagles put up a good performance at the group stage of just concluded African Cup of Nations, (AFCON), winning all three group stage games only to be sent out of tournament in the Round of 16 by Tunisia.
