Two UNHCR journalists, Afghans held in Kabul by Taliban

The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) on Friday disclosed that two journalists and Afghans working with them were detained in Kabul.
“We are doing our utmost to resolve the situation, in coordination with others,” UNHCR wrote on its Twitter page.
It, however, did not disclose further details about the journalists. Likewise the Taliban, which has ruled Afghanistan since August, did not comment on the case.
The Taliban has imposed restrictions on media and free expression since they retook power in August 2022.
The hardliners have also regularly detained protesters, women’s rights activists, and journalists, with some reporting abuse and torture after their release.
