Social Media Post: Sharia court orders actress to attend Islamic school for six months

Actress Sadiya Haruna has been sentenced by Sharia court in Kano to a six-month compulsory study at an Islamic school at Tudun Yola for uploading contents deems sexual on her social media pages.
The religious court found the Kannywood actress guilty of posting “obscene videos with seductive sexual comments” that were considered arousing and completely unacceptable to Islamic law.
The Guardian newspaper had reported that Ms Haruna was arrested by Hisbah police for her actions on Friday and detained till Monday. She was later arraigned before the Sharia court in Sharada area in Kano where she pleaded guilty.
Ms Haruna was thereafter sentenced to Darul Hadith Islamiyya session at Tudun Yola Quarters for six months.
Her sentence will be strictly overseen by the school’s head teacher and the Hisbah command, the court ruled.
