Ronaldo becomes first Instagram user to hit 400 million followers

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has maintained his top spot as the most followed person on Instagram with his account followership hitting 400 million.
With 400 million followers on Instagram Ronaldo, 36, leads his rival, Paris Saint-Germain star, Lionel Messi with close to 100 million followers.
Messi has 306 million followers on Instagram.
Ronaldo, who was the first to reach 300 million last year, was estimated to make over $40 million annually from Instagram.
According to the UK Guardian, “Cristiano Ronaldo on Instagram “can charge the most for a sponsored post, with the footballer able to command as much as $1.6m (£1.2m) to endorse a product on social media.”
Ronaldo also has large followership on Twitter and other social media platforms.
