Oyo: APC passes vote of confidence in chairman

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo has passed a vote of confidence on its caretaker chairman, Akin Oke,describing him as a man of unquestionable integrity.
This is contained in a statement signed by its assistant publicity secretary, Ayobami Adejumo, on Wednesday.
The party in the state has been engulfed in crisis over alleged irregularities and manipulation of the congress’ list.
At a meeting in Abuja on November 4, the party’s caretaker secretary, Mojeed Olaoya, accused the chairman of fraud.
He also made the allegation on social media.
The statement noted that during an emergency executive meeting held in Ibadan, the APC condemned, in its entirety, the behaviour of Mr Olaoya.
It disclosed that the party’s executive members in the state had called on Mr Olaoya to apologise in writing to both the chairman and the party.
APC resolved that Mr Oke was trustworthy, efficient, hard-working, creative, prudent, and with proven integrity while restating full confidence in his capability to lead.
It explained that the party had urged him to continue running its affairs pending the inauguration of new executives.
