Osun 2022: Traditional rulers side with Gov. Oyetola for re-election

Traditional rulers in Osun have taken sides with Governor Gboyega Oyetola, pledging to support his quest for re-election in the July 16 gubernatorial election in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ismail Omipidan, on Saturday in Osogbo.
Mr Omipidan said that the traditional rulers spoke during a “Strategic Engagement Tour” of the governor to Ife-South and Ife-North Federal Constituency.
According to the statement, the traditional rulers said Mr Oyetola’s achievements were enough to convince the electorate to re-elect him for a second term.
Speaking in his palace, the Olubosin of Ifetedo, Oba Akinola Akinrera, was quoted to have said “the spirit of his ancestors are solidly behind the governor for victory.”
The traditional ruler was said to have appreciated the governor for bringing to life the dilapidated and abandoned Ifetedo General Hospital.
Mr Omipidan said that he said if that was the only thing the governor did, he should be expecting a reciprocative gesture through massive votes.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in Ife-North State Constituency, the Salu of Edunabon, Oba Kehinde Oladepo, assured the governor of his people’s support.
Oba Oladepo said the people of the state have already made up their minds to return the governor with their votes in the July 16 governorship election.
