NSCDC female squad seeks support of traditional rulers to tackle criminals

The special female squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has sought the support of traditional rulers in combating the security challenges facing the country, including the kidnapping of scholars.
This is contained in a statement issued by NSCDC spokesperson, Olusola Odumosu, on Saturday in Abuja.
According to the statement, NSCDC head of female squad in Oyo State, Oluwakemi Imonikhe, made the appeal when she paid a courtesy visit to the Alafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
Mrs Imonikhe said the visit was to show the total readiness of the squad to fight the scourge of insecurity in the state.
She said the corps needed the support of all traditional rulers in the country for the social re-engineering and sensitisation of the populace on security consciousness.
The statement said that the squad would, among other things, strive to ensure the efficient implementation of the corps’ “Safe School Initiative”.
Mrs Imonikhe reiterated that the NSCDC would continue to work closely with state governments to tackle crimes.
